The KGA is a non-profit membership organization with the goal of improving adult guardianship in Kentucky. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in adult guardianship. We seek to improve guardianship by developing training for persons appointed to serve as guardian of an adult with a disability, training for attorneys representing persons seeking to be appointed as guardian, attorneys representing alleged incapacitated persons, professionals such as social workers and psychologists appointed to interdisciplinary evaluation teams for the purpose of evaluating the capacity of adults responding to a petition for appointment of a guardian or conservator, and professionals who work with incapacitated adults and their guardians.

The KGA was founded on the principle of improving the practice of adult guardianship in Kentucky by promoting practices that protect the Constitutional rights and autonomy of adults with disabilities.

We hold regular meetings and trainings in Kentucky about topics related to guardianship.
